read between the lines
drifting at sea [life's ocean]i'm drifting at sea and the waves are pushing me back and forth. i'm a sailor out alone on just a simple boat. some days it's sunny and the skies are clear, other days it's pouring and the stormy waves threaten to envelop me. but in all weather situations, i know this is my Father's world. and i know that in all things He works for the good of me. i know i'll never see the shore until my earthly life has expired. and i WANT to reach the shore, i don't wanna end up dying in the midst of the storm just because i gave up hope and stopped looking upwards. and i know the only way to reach those golden sands is to let my Father sail this boat for me there. but for now i am drifting, drifting shipwrecked, in a way, displaced, for i don't belong here but hanging on, and learning day by day to give up the oars to God. He is the one who feeds and clothes me who sustains me, who teaches me who holds my hand and leads me through the ocean of life. (and anyway, He's the only one who knows me inside out.) btw, when i said i don't wanna end up dying in the midst of the storm, i really meant literally dying. go figure. it doesn't take a genius to do so. |
